Completely unfounded rumors have it that Robert Downey Jr. also wanted to play The Hulk (not Bruce Banner, but The Hulk) in The Avengers.
When he showed the Marvel executives his “Hulk” face, they didn’t know whether to laugh or to say “awwwww” because he resembled an angry kitten.
Suffice it to say, he didn’t get the job.
